Insights from Our Mission Trip to St. Vincent

The Conference

Last month my family went on a mission trip to beautiful (and hot!) St.Vincent and the Grenadines. We used the Family Rhythm curriculum to put together a full conference experience over a period of three evenings. This curriculum equips parents with practical tools to move their relationship rhythm towards one that reflects a restoration narrative. We heard some great reports about the conference including,

• “Overall the conference was an eye-opening event. It was very educational and refreshing.”
• “This was a phenomenal experience for me…It helped me to think about my own parental practices and ways I can do better to make both the kids and my experience better.”
• “These tools I will surely put into action immediately.”
• “Getting the tools to help shepherd our children’s heart. The practical examples and role plays helped to cement the points.”

This event was a great reminder of ways in which we can keep Christ at the centre of our homes/families and of His light be reflected in the manner in which we parent our children.

This event has changed my approach to parenting.

Our Family’s Involvement

We also shared a school assembly devotional, trained children’s ministry workers, preached on Sunday, developed relationships and discussed future possibilities with the leadership team.

Daphne is a superb communicator, our kids contributed with role-plays, stories, devotionals and children’s ministry volunteering. I’m so pleased with our children who stepped up in strong ways. They served the LORD and His church with gladness.
