Does God Exist? – Six Reasons to Believe that God is Really There

Does God Exist – Six Reasons to Believe that God is Really There – Existence of God – Proof of God.

Got kids asking how we know that God is real. I propose that we can know He is real because creation, the prophets, Jesus and the apostles prove it. Consider Marilyn Adamson’s article from the link above.

  1. I had a brief look at the article:

1, 3, and 4 actually speak against the existence of God (or, at least, his involvement as an active creator) for those who have a knowledge of e.g. emergent systems.

2 is at most neutral. Postulating God as the explanation would only postpone the problem of an origin; further, even assuming a divine act, there is really nothing that informs us of what hypothetical divinity was involved.

5 is based on a highly personal experience (which lacks value as proof for anyone except that person) and a lot of speculation. No support for this speculation is given.

6 is based on faulty reasoning and references to events that have no historical support outside the Bible (and Biblical apocrypha). Indeed, even the existence of Jesus as a historical person does not have a complete scientific consensus (albeit, the dissenters are in a small minority).

  2. Thanks for your comment. You seem very well reasoned and have done much research. It seems as though we come from different planets in terms of our world-views. : ) In order to have a conversation about this we would need to cover a lot of ground. I think your answer for number six is very critical. The sources that you trust about Jesus or the non-existence of Him or His divinity take precedence over the overwhelming sources and evidences for His existence and divinity. But again, we would have to cover a lot of ground here. Thanks for your thoughts and keep searching for truth.
